It depends on the tour. If the excursion you want is in high demand, such as a Skagway helicopter glacier landing or dog sledding camp, you should absolutely book ahead of time — these often sell out well before arrival because multiple cruise ships can be in port the same day.
 For tours like the White Pass Train, there’s usually plenty of space available throughout the day, so it can make sense to wait until you arrive. This way, you can check the weather and visibility conditions before deciding.

 If your tour is canceled, you will receive a full refund. We hold your reservation with a credit card but don’t charge it until you arrive in port, so the refund process is simple.
 Cancellations are most common on helicopter and flightseeing tours when weather conditions make it unsafe to fly. We’ll do our best to help you reschedule or find an alternate tour.

 Once you book, our local team confirms your departure time, meeting location, and pickup details by email. You’ll have all your tour information before you arrive in Skagway.
